About Benjamin Hightower,
Benjamin Hightower is a U.S. Air Force veteran and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter. After separating from the Air Force following seven years of active-duty service, he captivated millions with his breakout performance of “Pink Pony Club” on America’s Got Talent.
His experiences deeply inform his music, from attending conversion therapy through his church for being gay to serving more than 10 years in the military. His songs explore identity, faith, love, and mental health, particularly for fellow veterans and LGBTQ+ individuals.
In 2026, Benjamin steps into a new era with his forthcoming debut EP, a collection exploring his self-discovery after leaving the military, coming out of the closet, and moving to New York City. His sound draws from church music and theater while embracing lush pop and piano rock, with musical influences including Elton John, Ben Folds, and Rufus Wainwright.
