DESCRIPTION:Savage Wonder presents another evening of MUSIC featuring Hudson Valley musicians\, composers\, and artists. \nTonight\,\nNever The Same Harbor Twice celebrates the release of Johnson and Cordisco’s second live album of improvisations. \nPedal steel and guitar: two players\, no studio\, no overdubs\, no setlist. Never The Same Harbor Twice is five improvised pieces captured live as they happened\, from the five-minute drift of “Urban Prairie Music” to the twenty-one-minute closing meditation “This Eternal Current.” \nTheir 2020 debut Abstracts was recorded live at 2 Alices Coffee Lounge in Cornwall-on-Hudson. This one trades the café for their porch\, birdsong in the background\, and the quiet of a spring morning. Nothing was fixed afterward. What happened on the porch is what’s on the record. \nThe title borrows from Heraclitus. Rockport Harbor on the cover\, photographed by Cordisco off the Maine coast\, is never the same twice\, and neither is an improvisation. \nFeaturing\,\nRich Johnson\, Trumpet\, Pedal Steel Guitar\, Electronics\nDominic Cordisco\, Guitar\, Electronics \nAbout the Artists\,\nRich Johnson is a trumpet player\, pedal steel guitarist\, composer\, and sound artist. Performing under the name Ignite a Noise\, he creates ambient and electroacoustic music using trumpet\, pedal steel guitar\, electronics\, field recordings\, and live processing. His work moves between improvisation\, jazz\, ambient music\, Americana\, drone\, sound design\, and musique concrète. Johnson is also Active Duty Army and a member of the West Point Band. \nDominic Cordisco is an environmental attorney and artist working across photography\, film\, and music. His short film Light on Water received Best Original Score honors at several film festivals\, and his song “Café\,” co-written with Steve Gelsi\, was used as walk-on music by The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His photography has appeared in Maine Magazine\, and in 2013 he received the Henry Award for Valley Visionaries from Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.

She later earned a Master’s Degree in classical piano performance from Brooklyn College\, where she won the Mozart Concerto Competition\, before completing a Ph.D. in contemporary music composition at NYU. Her work as both composer and performer spans jazz\, classical\, and contemporary music\, bringing a distinctly eclectic voice to every performance. \nLaura’s family carries a legacy of military service through both her grandfather\, a career Navy captain\, and her father\, who served as a Navy engineer during World War II.
