SUMMARY:The Lesson\, by Eugène Ionesco
DESCRIPTION:In The Lesson\, education isn’t enlightenment. It’s rehearsal. \nEugène Ionesco’s savage absurdist masterpiece tracks the moment teaching becomes domination\, and language becomes a blunt instrument of power. What unfolds is funny until it isn’t.   \nThe setting is a parlor. The hour is afternoon. A professor and a student. A lesson that begins in politeness and ends somewhere else entirely. Between them\, a blackboard — the oldest technology of authority chalked over and erased\, chalked over and erased. \nIonesco wrote The Lesson in 1951. It has not aged. What it describes is present in every institution that has ever called itself a place of learning: the seduction of the pedagogical relationship\, the violence hiding inside grammar\, the smile that precedes submission. The play is over before you understand what just happened. \nCome expecting a lecture. Leave having received one. \nBites & Cocktails: A curated experience by Chef Jeremy Plyburn of The Grape Rebellion\,  \n\nFood & Cocktails are included with your ticket.\nClassics\, absurdly reimagined.\n\nFeaturing\, \nChristopher Paul Meyer & Sophie Kelly-Hedrick* & Catherine Luckenbach \n*denotes a member of Actor’s Equity Association \nMusic from B Monea’\, New York City cellist\, composer\, and sound designer whose genre-bending work blends classical virtuosity with cinematic\, psychedelic soundscapes. A performer at Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center\, and the Apollo Theater\, she has collaborated with artists ranging from Shawn Mendes and Liam Gallagher to Busta Rhymes and A$AP Rocky\, creating immersive musical experiences where classical\, jazz\, rock\, and hip-hop collide. \nThe Lesson · Instructions \n\nYour ticket is all-inclusive and includes food and cocktails.\nDoors open on time. The Lesson begins on time. Do not be late\nSeating is limited and arranged as part of the performance environment.\nThe parlor is small. This is intentional.\n\nDirected by Christopher Paul Meyer \nExperience Director\, Topher Kage \nManaging Producer\, Sean Christian Taylor \nCasting by Jenn Haltman \nTech Direction by Joshua K Boniello \nAll performances have limited capacity and may sell out. Tickets may be released through the waitlist as available. Walk-ins are welcome to inquire; seating is not guaranteed.

SUMMARY:Velvet Confessional: An Intimate Vaudeville
DESCRIPTION:Velvet Confessional is an intimate vaudeville of five veteran-authored ten-minute plays\, threaded together with live acts built around closeness\, surprise\, and live human connection. \nOur pre-show begins with a torch singer\, food\, drinks\, and dancing is encouraged. Come with a partner\, come with friends\, or come alone—the room is designed to draw people gently into motion. Not a club. Not a spectacle. Something warmer\, stranger\, and more elegant: an elevated dance-floor encounter with a little romantic gravity. \nFrom there\, the evening unfolds as a hybrid of theater and vaudeville. Two actors carry five short plays by Michael Dougan\, Dakota Silvey\, Samara Siskind\, Jason Pizzarello\, and Christopher Paul Meyer\, while dancers\, singers\, a mime\, and other acts weave between them. The result is an intimate night of comedy\, physicality\, and confession\, with performances that emerge\, disappear\, and echo off one another as the evening stays alive around you. \nFeaturing: \nAna Anderson*\n Ana Anderson (GNIT\, Private Lives\, The 39 Steps) \nEphraim Birney*\n Ephraim Birney (The Americans\, Gotham\, Strawberry Mansion) \nPresenting\, Pierre the Mime\, the #emotionalsupportmime seen on Impractical Jokers\, Keeping Up with the Kardashians\, Last Week Tonight\, and The Tonight Show\, delivering mischievous\, silent comedy from screen to stage. \nPresenting\, Zia\, a Brooklyn-based torch singer from Kingston\, Jamaica\, blending modern songs with a sultry 1920s retro sound across music\, theater\, and storytelling. \nPresenting\, LEGGYBONES\, the acrobatic performance company of Jacob Michael Warren and Casey Bronwyn Howes\, blending gravity-defying movement with raw human storytelling to explore vulnerability\, resilience\, and connection through the body. \n*Denotes a member of Actor’s Equity \nDuets: Bites & Cocktails: A curated pairing experience by Chef Jeremy Plyburn and The Grape Rebellion\, where flavor and texture echo the rhythm of two in motion. \n\nThree-course dinner and cocktails are included with your ticket.\nDinner is served in three Duets\, each course exploring a different relationship between Texture\, Temperature\, and Tension.\nThe cocktails draw from 1920s classics\, reimagined.\n\nDesigned to be experienced\, not just consumed. \nVelvet Confessional is not a lineup of acts\, but a single unfolding experience where theater\, cabaret\, dance\, and mime share the same intimate stage. \nNothing resets. No clean endings. \nVELVET CONFESSIONAL INSTRUCTIONS \nYour ticket is all-inclusive and includes themed food and cocktails. \nExperience begins at 6 PM — arrive early; the performance is already in progress when doors open. \nThe event runs continuously; late arrivals may miss material that does not repeat. \nSeating is limited and arranged as part of the performance environment. \nDirected by Christopher Paul Meyer \nCasting by Jenn Haltman \nStage Management by MK Guinen & Kayla Katona \nTech Direction by Joshua K Boniello \nAll performances have limited capacity and may sell out.
Tickets may be released through the Eventbrite waitlist as available\, and additional seating may be assessed just before showtime; walk-ins are welcome to inquire\, but seating is not guaranteed. The performance also features flashing lights and haze.\nThis production is produced in accordance with Actor’s Equity Association.
